Malaga is now currently served from over 90% of British airports, by both budget and scheduled airlines; a car or car hire will be needed from any of these to reach the village.PRUNAPruna is a lovely little white village set in the heart of Andalucia, but it’s also within easy reach of several major cities and places of interest, Seville, Ronda, Setenil, Jerez, Arcos Del Frontera, Olvera, Cadiz, Granada and the Costa del Sol etc. so It is also an ideal base from which to explore Andalucia and the beautiful countryside that surrounds it, as well as exploring the real Spain.Although you may see a donkey or a cockerel walk past your front door, there are still plenty of modern facilities and services in the village, including bakers, butchers, banks, pharmacy, Doctors, dentists; small supermarkets, garage, petrol station etc but still retain its rural Spanish charm.If you require a little more choice Olvera is about 10 minutes away by car and the local Mercadona even sells Heinz beans, travel 20 minutes in the other direction to Moron with it’s wealth of supermarkets, D.I.Y. shops, shopping complex etc, it also has a working bull ring. In addition the village has a pool which is only open July to August the hottest months 40 to 45 degrees; however there is another pool at El Penon campsite about a 10 minute drive away in the mountains and well worth a visit just for the views alone.The population is about 3,500, give or take a few and it also has a small and very friendly ex pat community and even an English bar “Alba’s”. This is run by an lovely English couple Phil & Dawn, who will always make anyone welcome, with a drink and assistance and if you are home sick a bit of Dawns corned beef pie, or a bacon sarnie.However they are approximately another15 to 20 plus bars and places to eat, (tapas to a full meal) in the village, which are all traditionally Spanish, the “Miramar” being at the centre just off the main square and run by Antonio who will also away make you very welcome.
